Posted on September 24, 2020August 31, 2023

**Collaborative post**

Mykonos is considered to be one of the most beautiful of the Greek islands. Mykonos town or Chora is a beautiful town in the west of the island. It’s popularly known for its summer party atmosphere and stunning beaches which have been listed as some of the best in Europe with white and golden sand, turquoise waters and a definite feel of paradise about it.

Famed for its beautiful Mykonian windmills which are found all over the island but the most are concentrated in the main town of Chora. The famous ‘Kato Mill’ stands in a row on a hill overlooking the sea to harness the strong northern winds. These windmills are capped with wood and straw and were built in the 16th century by the Venetians to mill flour and were still being used until the early 20th century.

With so much to do in Mykonos it makes the perfect holiday location, you could:

When is the best time to visit Mykonos?

With over three hundred days of sunshine, any time of year is a good time to travel to Mykonos, although the chance of rainy days are higher between October and March. The island is almost always pleasantly warm, ranging from 15°C in winter to around 28°C in summer (although extremes of 40°C are not unheard of, and snow has been known to fall in winter – but it seldom ‘sticks’).

Just a few places you could stay in Mykonos are:

Mykonos Ammos

Enjoy a wonderful array of freshly prepared Greek, Mediterranean and fusion dishes and enjoy a cocktail or three while working on your tan and relaxing in full.
