Ways To Keep Your Home Warm Without Sacrificing Style

Posted on October 9, 2024March 23, 2025

**Collaborative post**

When it comes to keeping your home cosy during the winter months, it often feels as though you have to choose between warmth and style, but the reality is you really don’t have to do that – you don’t have to compromise because you can stay toasty while keeping your home looking chic and on-trend. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the ways to keep your home warm without sacrificing style – read on to find out more.

Install Designer Radiators

Radiators don’t have to be clunky eyesores anymore and the modern take on the classic radiator can look gorgeously sleek and stylish – there are some amazing designer looks that can blend in or stand out depending on your decor and preferences, just like the electric radiator wall mounted option. Not only is something like that energy efficient, but it also look stunning and takes up zero floor space, so it’s going to mean your home looks clean and spacious and, of course, stays warm.

Designer radiators come in all kinds of finishes like matt black or brushed metal, so you’re definitely going to be able to find one that matches your style, and it could be exactly the right statement piece to finish off your room perfectly.

Add Throws And Blankets

Throws and blankets are a great way to stay warm and since they can double as decor, that’s even better. You can choose all kinds of looks, like chunky knit or faux fur, for example, and you’ll be able to make the colour scheme of your living room or perhaps bedroom very easily. Just choose the ones you want, and drape them over your sofa, chairs, or bed for a pop of colour and texture that doesn’t just look cosy, but actually feels cosy too.

Plus, throws and blankets are an easy way to update your room’s look for the colder months; you can mix and match different textures and fabrics to give your space a layered, inviting feel but since you’re not doing any actual DIY or making any actual changes, it’s easier and cheaper, so it’s ideal.

Rugs For The Floor

Rugs are a fantastic way to keep your floors warm and stylish at the same time, which is exactly what you’re going for. Hardwood or tile floors may look beautiful, but they can get really chilly when the outside temperatures drop, and that means your feet will be cold too. However, a well-placed rug can instantly make a room feel better, both in how it looks and how it feels – you might even be able to walk around barefoot if that’s your preference, and you’re not going to get too cold when you do it.

Choose a plush, thick rug to warm up your space, and pick a design that you really love – you’ll have thousands of options, so it’s best to narrow things down by choosing a colour or a particular style you like, otherwise you might find the choice is too much and you end up either making a mistake and buying a rug you don’t like or not choosing one at all and leaving your home chilly and uncomfortable underfoot. Make the choice fun and you’ll stand a much better chance of picking something lovely that you enjoy having in your home.

Add Floor Cushions

Sticking with the idea of making the floor more comfortable and cosy, what about floor cushions? They’re actually a practical and gorgeous way to bring some more warmth into your home because you can layer soft, comfy cushions around your living space, adding a touch of casual style and giving people more options when it comes to where to sit – ideal if you like to entertain.

Once again, choose textures and colours that complement your existing decor, and opt for warm things like soft velvet, earthy tones, or fun pattern. Plus, what’s even better is that you can easily change the covers when you want to, so you can keep the cushions in place all year round and change how they look depending on the season or just your own preferences – you can keep things fresh and stylish and never have to sacrifice warmth.

Add Some Greenery

You might not think of plants as a way to keep warm, but adding greenery to your home can make it feel more alive and welcoming, which directly makes it feel more warm and cosy too. Choose easy to care for indoor plants like succulents or spider plants, for example, and you’ll have a touch of nature indoors and since they help clean the air too, that’s some bonus points!

Put your plants in stylish pots and planters that match your decor to finish the look in just the right way, and you’ll have a warm, stylish home without any problems.
