**Collaborative post**
Blogging is a great tool for communication, so much so that everyone uses it these days- from lifestyle bloggers through to big businesses. There is also a blog on every subject that you can imagine. Many people turn to bloggers for entertainment, information, and inspiration.
But if you are someone that is just starting out in setting up a blog, you may ask how do you go about creating a successful one?
Here are five ways that you can improve your blog.
Use Social Share Buttons
If you want to get the word out about your posts, you need to make it as easy as possible for your readers to share your posts. Adding social share buttons to your posts is a great way of ensuring that your readers do this.
Post Often
One of the best ways of maintaining an active readership in your blog is to post often. It’s no good posting one thing every couple of months, or even posting five articles and then nothing- you need to have a regular schedule!
Think about the type of posts that you want to share. If you have a couple of themes that you want to talk about the most, you may want to pick a day that you’ll talk on each topic. For instance, if you share recipes and cooking tips, you may want to do your recipes on a Tuesday and your tips posts on a Friday; that way, your readers know which day to come and visit you.
Add A Chat Room Function
You may be looking to add a chat room for your website. A chatroom or live chat function is a great way of engaging with your readers. You could host events in your chatroom and share tips on your specific niche. It’s a good chance to get to know the people that are visiting your blog regularly and to build up a community around the site.
Use Keywords
Have you heard of search engine optimization? If you have, then you will probably already use keywords. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a way of increasing organic traffic to your blog. There are lots of things that you can do to improve your SEO, however, one of the most useful is to use keywords in your posts.
Using a plugin such as Yoast on your website will help you to make the most of keywords. Once you are using these, you’ll be more likely to rank on Google for these phrases and will hopefully see an uplift in your visitor numbers.
Read Other People’s Blogs
Find out what else is out there by reading other blogs. You can draw inspiration from the types of posts that other people are writing and you can improve your own posts. To keep your blog fresh, you’ll need a constant stream of new ideas. There is nothing wrong with taking inspiration from others- just remember not to plagiarize from them.
