What Should I Wear to My First Rave?

Posted on June 24, 2021July 31, 2023

**Collaborative post**

Are you going to a rave for the first time and want to figure out what the perfect rave outfit would be? Relax… we’ve got you.

Here are some things you definitely will need to bring with you:

Earplugs

Yes, the music is going to be LOUD. You love loud music… but you also want to protect your ears for the future. That is why earplugs are a must to bring along.

There is nothing “wimpy” about earplugs. You’re preserving your hearing. Tinnitus and even partial deafness are not things you want to be dealing with down the road.

Make sure that you get ones that fit snugly. Trust us… when you’re at the festival, you’re going to feel the music more than actually hear it. Groove to the vibrations.

Kandi

This is a must-have. You can express yourself in so many different ways with these wristbands … and you can show that you understand PLUR (Peace, Love. Unity, and Respect = the central motto of the rave world) by doing this.

It’s all a matter of meeting up with friends and making these and trading them with each other. This can also help you bond a lot before heading out to the rave.

Sneakers or Other Comfortable Footwear

Raves include a LOT of dancing, which means that you are going to be on your feet a lot. You want your feet to feel good the entire time, so choose shoes that can give you a lot of support. Unleash your creativity by putting LED lights on them.

One suggestion though – make sure your choice is closed-toe – you do NOT want someone stepping on your foot with open-toed shoes. Just be comfortable.

Clothing that Is Both Unique and Comfortable

Girls have a lot to choose from, ranging from bikini tops to fishnet to mesh tees. Whatever they are comfortable in. That is the most important thing.

Guys can wear t-shirts and hoodies, shorts, jeans… whatever they like. It all depends on if they are going to be indoors or outdoors and how hot or chilly things may be.

You don’t have to overthink things too much. These are a few of the things that you can bring. Other items include backpacks or fanny packs, hydration packs, face masks, glasses, and glitter.

The first rave will be a blur, and as you go to more of them, you can create your own identity. Then you can really have fun.
