Should I Buy an Electric Bicycle?

Posted on April 25, 2022July 23, 2023

**Collaborative post**

Electric bikes are growing in popularity, and it’s not difficult to see why. It’s a great investment, and not just because of environmental concerns. E-bikes are easy to ride, fun, and a good value in the long term. Whether you want to upgrade your standard bike to an electric bicycle, buy one as a second rider, or get back into cycling after an injury, below.

E-bikes help you go faster, longer, and further.

Although electric bikes provide many similar benefits to regular cycling, they come with an added oomph on board to help you cover greater distances and ride for longer. E-bikes allow you to go faster than most cyclists and even cars. With an e-bike, you can get up to 15 mph almost immediately.

They help you keep fit

With an e-bike, you’ll be riding more than a standard. You’re pedalling more than a standard. This is good news for your blood pressure, lungs, and heart because numerous scientific researchers have proven a correlation between regular exercise and overall health. E-bikes are ideal for people aged or suffering from ailments.

Electric Bikes are Good Value

When you look up the electric bike for sale, the price tag for a good-quality e-bike is around $1000-1500. Although a massive investment is much more expensive than an equivalent standard bike, when you factor in how many cars trips the bike will replace, the price is worth it. They’re simple and cheap to maintain, and you can save more on parking fees, fuel, and probably tax and insurance. Although you can purchase a cheaper e-bike online, going for a more expensive type from an established manufacturer is best. First, you’re purchasing it locally, and you can rest assured it will meet the standards of the region you’re in.

They’re Safer than Regular Bikes

Most bike accidents occur at crossroads, roundabouts, and junctions. This is mostly because it takes a few crucial seconds for a stopped cyclist to generate speed. A little motor to assist you in accelerating will help you get out of the danger area faster.

Consequently, you’re also less likely to jump a red light since you won’t be so aggrieved about having to leave all the well-built-up momentum. You’ll be more willing to slow for corners and bends, where most cyclists come off because you can leverage the motor to accelerate out the other side.

Lastly, since you can easily keep up with the flow of traffic, fewer buses, lorries, and cars will need to overtake you, which implies safer riding.
