How To Stop Nosy Neighbours From Snooping On Your Home

Posted on May 17, 2023September 8, 2023

**Collaborative post**

Do you have nosy neighbours? It’s a nuisance to have these types of neighbours, especially when they feel it’s their right to go snooping over your property. Whether that’s simply passing by or having the audacity to come up to your front door, everyone should be able to have their right to the level of privacy desired.

If nosy neighbours are becoming a nuisance around your property, then there are a number of tips worth taking to help avoid further snooping. Here’s everything you need to know to stop nosy neighbours from snooping on your home.

Install shutters in some windows

If you’re constantly seeing neighbours or people passing by and taking a look into your property, then it’s worthwhile looking into shutters for your windows. It might not be the case to need shutters for all of your windows, but mainly for those that expose a lot of your interior property.

Shutters are a great and affordable option for those who want a bit of extra privacy and to provide some shelter during those warmer days when the sun blazes in. They come in all different styles and designs, meaning you can tailor them to however you want for your home.

Alternatively, you could look at companies like halfpriceblinds.com.au who sell affordable blinds that will help you shield your home just as well as shutters can, too.

Invest in CCTV or front door ring cameras

CCTV or front door ring cameras are an excellent deterrent for those who like to snoop in on your property. Whether they do it from afar or like to come closer, they’ll get their faces caught on your ring camera or CCTV as a result.

It may deter some neighbours from snooping and also offers further benefits when it comes to keeping your home safe and secure from would-be criminals.

These security systems are a lot more affordable than they used to be and are more than easy to install.

Add privacy with fencing or garden hedges

If you want privacy in your home, then it’s worth investing in fencing or garden hedges. These are great for providing privacy and security so that no one is going to be able to look into or step foot on your property.

There are lots of fencing types and garden hedges of varying sizes depending on your needs and for some, it might be necessary to cover both the back and front areas of the home.

Look into a gated entrance

Talking about unwanted neighbours stepping onto the property, it’s worth looking into gated entrances. These are a much more expensive investment but may be worth doing if you have the space to do it.

Having a gate protecting your home is a way of keeping any unwanted guests from coming onto your property in the first place.

Place signs around the exterior of the home

Finally, if you want to be blunt, then simply display signs around the exterior of your home. There’s nothing more forward than warning passersby they’re on camera or that they should beware of the guard dog.

These tips should help prevent those nosy neighbours from invading your privacy ever again. Of course, some neighbours are just lovely – here are some things you can do to welcome your new neighbours.
