We have been looking forward to the release of this movie, both Emmy and Harry loved the first and who wouldn’t – it’s full of excitement and of course animal adventures.
This latest movie has just hit the cinemas in time for half term, and I know my kids are already asking to see it – we will have to wait a little while as are away on holiday, but on our return, we’ve pencilled in a cinema visit.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 will follow summer 2016’s blockbuster about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day. The Secret Life of Pets 2 will see the return of writer Brian Lynch (Minions) and once again be directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me series, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax).
This movie is Illumination’s 10th animated feature which is packed with Illumination’s signature irreverence and subversive humour, this new chapter explores the emotional lives of our pets, the deep bond between them and the families that love them, and also answers the question which has long intrigued every pet owner: What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home?

Terrier Max is coping with some major life changes in this movie, his owner is now married and has a toddler, Liam. Max is so worried about protecting the little boy that he develops a nervous tic. On a family trip to the farm, Max and mutt Duke encounter canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey, all of which only make Max’s anxiety much worse. With guidance from the farm dog Rooster could he be set to overcome his issues?
Meanwhile, while her owner is away bunny Snowball begins to believe he is an actual superhero after his owner starts dressing him in superhero costumes…..this couldn’t lead to trouble at all, or could it?
I’ll not give away any more of the plot, you’ll just have to watch it for yourselves, or you could take a look at the preview below I guess.
